Sunday Stamper - Week 207 - Words

It's been a scorcher of a weekend!!!  Unfortunately I have been feeling under the weather and so have not been able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.

Over at Hels' place this week, the Sunday Stamper theme is 'words'.  Here is my creation:
I coloured a tag using shabby shutters and broken china distress ink.  I then flicked water over the tag to leave some lovely watermarks.  I edged the tag using walnut stain ink.  The script is one of my favourites - French script stamp from Stampin' Up.  The doily was die cut using a fabulous new die that I found and quote stamped using broken china distress ink.

To finish, I created a rosette which I finished with a button and used 2 heart pins.

Hope you like my creation.  Pop over to Hels'   to see what everyone else has created.

Thanks for looking.

Alcohol Ink Techniques Workshop

A couple of weeks ago I attended an alcohol inks workshop at The Stamp Attic, which is owned by the lovely Wendy.   The workshop was run by the wonderfully talented Hels Sheridan

The workshop taught us 13 techniques with alcohol inks - which was great, because if you are like me you have loads of them but only know how to do a couple of things with them!

At the end of the workshop we bound our techniques into a tag book
As you can see from my pic I messed up by not lining my words up  correctly!!  But, regardless of this, I am delighted with my results!

Here are some of my faves:

If you haven't attended a workshop with Hels yet, you need to get booking!!! Not only that but you get to browse the wonderful Stamp Attic which is a crafter's heaven!!!

Thanks for looking....

New Home

Evening everyone.

Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather at the moment.  I finally got to spend a couple of hours in the garden yesterday - it has only scratched the surface though!

Today I would like to share a card that I made for friends of ours:

I stencilled shabby shutters and broken china distress ink through a circle stencil (one of my faves) and over stamped a French text stamp in the same colours.

I stamped the Paper Artsy houses in Archival ink and coloured them before cutting out and adhering to the card.  I stamped the ruler directly onto the card using walnut distress ink.

To finish I die cut the wording and glued to the card.  The card was edged in walnut stain distress ink.

Hope you like it!!

WOYWW Week 154

Well, it's that time of week again!  Don't really know where the last 7 days have gone!  If you are wondering what this is all about, pop over to Julia's to see what everyone is up to.

Firstly, thank you so much for all of the kind comments last week - I was quite overwhelmed.  I promise that at some point over the next 2 weeks I will post a tutorial of how I made the gerberas - so keep checking back!

Here is my desk this week:

I've only just tidied away from craft club last week so there is not much going on right now.  Later today I plan to have a good play with my Tim Holtz and Wendy Vecchi goodies, so you may get a peek at y creations later in the week.

Right I am off  to snoop at everyone elses' space.  See you later!

Rebel Stampers Tag Swap

The theme for this month's tag swap was 'ribbon'.  Here is my swap:
I coloured the tag using wild honey distress stain and then used a stencil to add more texture.

The main image is a Stampin' Up label die which you can get the matching apothecary art stamps for, one of which I have used here.

As for the ribbons  - starting from the top!  I coloured seam binding with bundled sage distress for the attached ribbon.  I created paper ribbon using tissue tape and a satin rose using satin ribbon.

Below this there is pleated ribbon (which is new from Stampin' Up) and lace.  I have also added a thin satin ribbon and gems to this.

Finally I have used a shaped ribbon for the bottom.

Thanks for looking.

So, lots of ribbon!!!

If  youfancy joining in with the monthly swaps, join in over at Rebel Stampers

Winterstoke Road Craft Club

This evening I held the 2nd craft class at work.  The 'theme' was die-cutting.  Most of the ladies had never seen a die-cutting machine, let alone use one!  They were amazed with their efforts, as was I - well done ladies!!  Here are some photos of them hard at work!

Here is what we created:

And here are the finished creations:
Jennie
Chris

I'm sure that you will agree that there are some fabulous creations!  Looking forward to the next workshop already!

WOYWW week 153

Good morning all.  Apologies for the absence last week.  Life is just taking over at the moment - not really sure where April went!!

So, here is my really messy desk today:
On my desk this week you can see a box full of gerbera that I have been making for a friend's wedding.  Next to that is a gorgeous new stamp set that I haven't had time to play with yet!!  To the right of this is the tag that I made for the Studio L3 challenge last week.

Not much creativity to share, I'm afraid.  Hoping to start getting back to my 'normal' self soon.  Pop across to Julia's for a nosey around everyone else's desks!

Thanks for looking.

Tim Holtz 12 Tags Of 2012 Challenge: April

Good afternoon on this wet May bank holiday!

Yes, I know that it's now May but I thought I would finally catch up on Tim's April challenge.  Not really sure where April went but better late than never!

Here is my creation:
As you can tell, I didn't use all of the same things that Tim used.  I adapted using products that I already had.  So, what did I do?

I die cut the bird and cage out of grunge paper.  I then inked them using distress ink and embossed the cage using distress embossing powder - this ha given the cage a vintage and rusty look.

I don't own the reflections stamps that Tim used, so used a pattern stamp which I inked in Archival onto an embossing folder.  I then run the folder through my Big Shot which, as well as embossing my tag, caused the ink to print onto the tag. Following this I used various colours of distress ink to ink the tag and edged it using walnut stain.

I adhered the bird and cage to the tag using Glossy Accents then added a word bank and twine using the tiny attacher.

I found this tag quite relaxing - simple, yet, satisfying!!

Right time for a cuppa!  Thanks for looking.

Compedium of Curiosities 2 Challenge: Technique 4 - Faded Layers

Well, it's the 4th challenge from the lovely Linda.  What's it all about?  Each week Linda will set a challenge using techniques from Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2.

This week's challenge was faded layers.  Here is my creation:
I coloured a tag using broken china and shabby shutters distress inks.  I then applied to masks and continued to ink over the masks.  I stamped a background image in archival and rocked it across the tag and masks.  I then carefully lifted the masks and stamped nautical themed images in archival.  The stamped images are from 'The Open Sea' set from Stampin' Up that have just been released in the new summer mini catalogue.  To finish I spritzed water over the tag to give additional texture.

Really enjoyed this technique.  Pop over to Studio L3 to see what everyone else has created.

Thanks for looking.  Have a great week.

Sunday Stamper 204 - Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue

Good afternoon all.

Over at Hels' gaff this week, the Sunday Stamper theme is Blue and Brown. I love  using these two colours together and decided to have some fun creating a tag using some of my favourite things:
I used antique linen to colour the tag and stamped a Studio 490 stamp in broken china.  I used washi tape as my ruler.  I die cut the sewing room die in canvas and coloured with antique linen and edged in walnut stain.  I cut the bird cage in grunge and coloured it using walnut stain.  I coloured a length of seam binding ribbon using broken china ink and tied it around the waste.  I stamped a Tim Holtz quote in broken china and attached using two mini pegs.

Zip across to Hels' place to have a nosey at everyone's creations.

Thanks for looking.

Sunday Stamper 203 - Little Red Corvette

The theme over at Sunday Stamper this week is RED.  I have missed the last couple of challenges because I have been busy at work and exhausted when I get home, so I was determined to enter this week - even though I have quite a basic entry!

Here is my creation:
I coloured a tag with fired brick distress stain then flicked water over it. I edged using walnut stain distress ink.  When dry I stamped the French text stamp from the Tim Holtz Papillion set.  I stamped the balloon from the Tim Holtz remnants set in archival then coloured in red and mounted onto the tag.  I distressed 2 tickets and added using an ideology pin.

Simple, but satisfying to get inky for the first time in a week!

If you want to see what the fuss is about, check out Hels' place and see all of the fab creations!

Thanks for looking.

Bordering On Romance

I hope you have all had a great week and are looking forward to a wonderful bank holiday weekend.  I am working tomorrow but am looking forward to a restful Sunday and Monday off.

I thought I would share some creations made using the new Stampin' Up Bordering On  Romance stamp set and labels dies and edgelits.

I have also used the new Stampin' Up ruffled ribbon - unfortunately the photo does not do this justice - the ribbon is totally gorgeous!!!  These were all made for a Stampin' Up event that I attended last weekend and had a fab time - if you haven't looked through their new Summer mini catalogue yet, you are missing out!  For more details, contact me here.

Have a great weekend.  I will hopefully be popping back to share more creations!
