Country View Crafts Challenges - Artist Trading Coins

October came and went in a flash!  November sees the next Country View Crafts challenge which has been set by Deborah Wainwright.  Debs has chosen the theme of Artist Trading Coins.

A few months ago Danny at That Craft Place introduced me to these little beauties as he cuts and sells MDF versions.  In the beginning I didn't quite 'get' them.  But now, I am HOOKED!

Here is my first project

My project started with me creating a larger background.

I created a wrinkle free distress background using Distress Oxides.

Next I used Distress Micro Glaze through the Festive stencil.

I love the effect of this.  After each stencilling I used another distress oxide colour then dried them again.

Next, I used Distress Ink through the Starry stencil.

Once everything had dried I cut my Artist Trading Coin to size and added stamped wording around the edge using Archival Ink.

The poinsettia and bow were die cut and then edged using walnut stain distress ink.

To finish I edged my coin using black acrylic paint.

I had great fun creating this project.  These coins are addictive!

Do pop over to the blog and look at the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the design team.

I hope that I have inspired you to join in with this month's challenge.  There is a gift voucher up for grabs for one lucky person if you join in with the CVC blog challenge.

Happy crafting!
