PaperArtsy Challenge - Turquoise

Good evening,

I have a project over on the PaperArtsy blog this evening.

Pop over to the PaperArtsy blog see more details on how I created this journal.

Here are more pics of my journal.... you may want to grab a cuppa as it is very picture heavy!

I loved the colour combination - turquoise mixed with Slimed and Cherry Red Fresco Finish paints.

I kept the background simple with wrinkle free distress, leaving parts white.  The gold splashes really lifted the journal.

I drew borders around the pages.  The intention will be to write down 'happy thoughts as I go along.

I loved the splashes of red above some of the houses.  It looked like a red sky!

I thought some of the quotes were appropriate for my journal purpose too!

There are lots of different elements in this collection of stamps.  So versatile to use for so many reasons.

The belly band's initial use is to balance the journal out as it was leaning when closed.  However, it is brilliant to hold little trinkets such as tags and tickets.

I also made sure that I decorated the spines.

So, there you have it.  My wrapped journal.  Celebrating the wonderful PaperArtsy Squiggly Ink Bricks and Mortar stamps, but also a place to jot happy thoughts!

Thanks for joining me this evening.

Happy Crafting!

Country View Challenges - Opposites

Hi again,

Today I am sharing my second project for the 'Opposites' challenge over at Country View Challenges.

Here is my second project

This time I used embossed and de-bossed as my 'opposites'.

I used two different Tim Holtz Texture Fades to create the embossing and debossing.  I love using these folders.  Always amazed at the depth of the embossing.

The Tim Holtz large stems were die cut in white and the coloured using Distress inks.  I love colouring objects in this way because I can vary the colours.

To finish I used a phrase from Tim Holtz Small Talk Ideology.

I had great fun making this.  I hope that I have inspired you to join in with this months challenge over on the Country View Crafts blog.  Don't forget, by joining in you will be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher that can be spent in the shop.

Thanks for joining me today.

Happy Crafting!

PaperArtsy Snap!

Good evening,

Tonight I have a project over on the PaperArtsy blog.  The theme is currently Fish and I chose the amazing Hot Picks stamps, teamed with Sara Naumann stencils.

I wanted to do something a bit different for a change, so decided to create a game of snap!

Here is my project:

Pop over to the PaperArtsy blog to see how I created this box and cards.

Let me know what you think of my project - I was a little freaked about stepping out of my comfort zone but certainly pleased I did!

Thanks for joining me.....

Country View Crafts Challenges - Opposites

Happy May!

One if the super talented design team over at Country View Crafts, Teresa,  has chosen 'Opposites' as the theme for the month.  At first I was a bit stumped, but then I got my thinking cap on and came up with loads of ideas.

Here is my first project for the month

My opposites here are 'light' and 'dark'.

I had so much fun I forgot to take photos as I was creating!

The background was created using PaperArtsy Infusions in Sleight Blue.  I never bore of Infusions - I love the colours that each little bottle carry.

The Tim Holtz Sizzix Filament die was die cut in black and white.  The white was coloured using Distress Inks.  I added a bit of sparkle using a Gelly Roll pen to give it a bit of extra 'light'.

To finish, I added a Tim Holtz phrase.

So, there you have it.  My first project for the 'Opposites' challenge.

Make sure you pop over to the blog to see the amazing inspiration this month.  I hope that I have also inspired you to join in with the challenge.  Don't forget that you might be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher to spend in the online shop!
