Country View Crafts Challenges - Christmas - Anything Goes

Eek - not long to go until the big day - not many sleeps left!

Here is my second project for the December challenge:

The papers were from a Christmas release.  I filled my shaker dome with mica - I thought it was softer than fake snow or sequins.  I die cut pine leaves from a Tim Holtz Sizzix set and used an Ideology metal token.

I really enjoyed how this card turned out.

Do pop over to the blog to see the inspiration and to join in with the challenge - you never know, you might be the successful winner.

Thanks for joining me today.

And if this is your last visit to my blog before the Festive Season I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Anything Goes

 Happy December.

Today's challenge is the last of the year over at Country View Crafts.  Being the festive season the theme is Christmas - anything goes.

Here is my first project

I wanted to create a very simple make to show that handmade doesn't always mean that a project has to take a long time to create.

I always make my own tags for presents but do not have much time at the moment, and so these are perfect.

I die cut tags from Kraft card stock.  I stamped the snowman and sentiment from Seasonal Scribbles. The images were roughly coloured using pencils.

I finished the tags with twine.

So there you have it - easy peasy!

Pop over to the Challenge blog and join in with this month's challenge.  Don't forget that all entrants will be in the draw to win a voucher to spend in the online shop.

Look forward to seeing your festive projects.

Thanks for joining me.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Anything but a card

Happy middle of November.

Here is my second project of the month

I decided to create an art panel to add to my wall in my craft room.

I added Grunge Paste through a JOFY PaperArtsy stencil.

Once dry, I sprinkled some PaperArtsy infusions and reacted with water.  I adore the effects that the infusions create.

I created a skin using a Stamperia mould and cream paste.  Once fully dry I added a few torn strips to my panel.

The frame is a Sizzix Tim Holtz Ornate die which I cut in mount board.  Once added to the panel I then set about with the decoration.

I used Stamperia cotton net to add to the textures.

I then collaged different elements from my stash, including Ideology

I literally lost myself in creativity for an afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I hope that I have inspired you to join in with this month's challenge.  Pop over to the Challenge blog to see how to join in.  Don't forget, you may be in with a chance to win a gift voucher to spend in the online shop.

Thanks for joining me.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Anything But A Card

Happy November!

For the first project of this challenge I chose to make a tag.  I haven't decorated a tag for so long.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy them.

I started off by die cutting a tag from the Tim Holtz tag die.

I then embossed some of the images from the Tim Holtz Spring Shadows stamp set.  I used the emboss resist technique.

I swooshed my tag through wilted violet and worn lipstick distress inks and dried the tag thoroughly.  I simply love the effect of this technique.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut butterflies from a PaperArtsy Tracy Scott stamp set.

To finish I used a 'happy' die cut and added a few gems.

I simply loved creating this tag and it really made me 'happy'.

Thanks for joining me today.

Pop over to the Challenge blog to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.  I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge too - you might be the lucky winner of a gift voucher to spend in the shop too!

Happy crafting!

Country View Crafts Challenges - I do like to be beside the seaside

Hope you are having a great August.

Here is my second project for the challenge:

For this project I wanted to make something bright.  I had lolly pop sticks in my stash for some time and decided this would be perfect - lolly pops remind me of beach trips in the summer - being from Cardiff we used to regularly go to Barry Island - fond memories.

For this project I used:
PaperArtsy Stamps - JOFY
PaperArtsy Stamps - Ink and Dog

I was really pleased with the end result.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the inspiration.  And don't forget to join in with the challenge - you might be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher for the shop!

Country View Craft Challenges - Summer Fields

Hi there.

Today I am sharing my second project for the fabulous Summer Fields theme.  Here is my project:

This was a labour of love but worth the time.

I started by washing a card panel with Fresco Acrylic paints.

I decided to use PaperArtsy Kay Carley stamps for this project as they are perfect for summery images.

I then got my trusted Stamping Platform out and started to stamp the images.

I stamped the images one by one and while leaving everything in place I painted them using the opaque paints.  Once they had dried, I stamped them again - and because I hadn't moved anything, it stamped perfectly.

Look how perfect that detail is again.

This is how my finished panel looked before I put the card together.

Although  had stamp then colour individually, as opposed to stamp all the colour all, it was definitely worth the finished result.

Thanks for joining me today.

Make sure you pop over to the Challenges blog to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

Happy crafting!

Country View Crafts Challenges - Summer Fields

Happy June,

I can't believe we are almost half way through the year.  I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Here is my first project for the fabulous Summer Fields theme over at Country View Crafts Challenge blog:

I started off with a really simple Distress Oxide background.

It actually remind me of a hot dusky evening as you pass a field.

The flowers are die cut from  Sizzix Tim Holtz Bigz die.  They were simply coloured using Distress Oxides.

To finish I mounted my flowers onto teh background.  I loved how it looked as though they were shining on a hot summer evening.

To finish I added a Lin Brown quote from PaperArtsy.

Thank you for joining me today.  Pop over to the Challenge blog to see the inspiration from the other DT members.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Tea Party

Happy May to you all.

Today is my turn to choose the theme for the Country View Crafts Challenge.

I have chosen 'Tea Party'.

With the global pandemic on-going many of us are self-isolating or social distancing.  It's a hard time for most of us and we all miss family and friends.  I wanted the Challenge theme to be something to look forward to, something to celebrate and I thought the idea of a tea party of celebration party would be perfect.

Here is my first project for the challenge:

Ive used the fabulous papers from the Stamperia Alice collection.  I simply adore these papers and can't get enough of them!

So much so, I made a mini album for Country View Crafts that you can see here and the finished album here.

Make sure you pop over to the Challenge blog to see the other amazing creations from the design team.  I hope that I have inspired you to join in with the challenge.  By linking a tea party themed project and linking it to the Challenge blog you may be the lucky winner of a gift voucher to spend in the online shop.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Animal Magic

Hello again.

Today I am sharing my second project for the Country View Crafts Animal Magic challenge.

Here is my project

The main images are from the Big Top Tim Holtz stamp set.  I love this set - I hadn't played with it for a while.

The images were stamped and coloured using Polychromo pencils.  They were then cut out and set aside.

The background papers are from an older set of Tim Holtz Christmas papers.

The wonderful thing about Tim's papers is that they are double sided, and the backs are normally fabulous and universal.

I cut the papers to size, distressed the edges and then inked around them using walnut stain distress ink.

On the top panel I inked through the Hocus Pocus stencil.  I thought this went well with the circus theme.

I then arranged the stamped and coloured images onto the card and stamped the quote.

This was great fun to make.

Pop over to the Challenge blog to see more amazing inspiration from the team.  And don't forget.  There is plenty of time to join in with the challenge.  You never know, you might be the lucky winner of the gift voucher to spend in the shop!

Stay safe and happy crafting!

Country View Crafts Challenges - Animal Magic

Happy April.

I know that life has been a bit crazy of late - the whole world has been impacted by Covid-19 and everyone has had to adjust.

Hopefully you have all been finding sanctuary through craft.  I know that it helps my anxiety greatly.

April's challenge over at Country View Crafts Challenges is Animal Magic.  Here is my first project.

I didn't take any photos as I was creating my project unfortunately, but I can talk you through how I created this card.

Firstly, I stencilled walnut stain distress ink through the Tim Holtz Decayed stencil.  I thought this stencil was perfect as it looks a little like the markings on a giraffe.

I also loved the tone on tone effect in the background.

I stamped the amazing giraffe collage stamp from PaperArtsy onto the stencilled background.

I also stamped this onto a separate sheet of card and painted over using PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic chalk paints.

This was then cut out and mounted over the stamped background.

To finish the panel was mounted onto another panel and a card blank.

This was great fun to make.  I adore the new PaperArtsy Hot Picks stamps too!

Pop over to the Challenge blog to see what the other design team members have created.  And while you are there, I hope that I have inspired you to join in.  Don't forget, you might be the lucky winner of a gift voucher to spend in the shop.

Happy crafting and stay safe!

Crafting For Lisa Horton Crafts Part 2

I'm back to share the other projects that I made for Lisa's latest launch.

The stamp holders are fabulous.  Such a good size.

I used the fabulous Playing Card stencil.  This is an awesome stencil.

I used Weathered Wood to create my crackle effect - I was delighted with the crackle!

This has a more masculine feel.

This time I used the Crackle stencil - which also comes with an amazing mask part too.

I decorated the stamp box using some of the grey board cogs from That Craft Place.

My final projects are using the round storage pots.

For some reason I didn't take any other photos of this one.

I used the Heart Flurry stencil, the butterfly dies, pearls and the wonderful Mermaid Tails.

I used Weathered Wood on this pot to create that fabulous crackle.

I used the Cogs stencil to add additional design around my pot.

My handle was creates by layering up some of the greyboard cogs.

As you can tell, I have had so much fun creating projects for this release.  They really were fabulous to create with!

If you missed out from buying them from the Create and Craft show you can buy them from That Craft Place from 8 April.

Thanks for joining me today.

Happy Crafting and stay safe!
