Happy Birthday Studio 490 Style

It was my sister, Lisa's birthday last week.  I wanted to use some of my yummy Studio 490 stamps.  Here is the card that I made:

I die cut a flower shaped card and covered it in vintage papers.

I stamped various Studio 490 stamps and coloured them in using distress ink before cutting them out.

I die cut a Tim Holtz banner and stamped a greeting to it, attaching it to the card with brads.

I finished the card off using decorative pins and a resin rose.

Happy Easter

Sorry I've not been around alot lately.  Life has been far too busy!!  Still, 4 days off for Easter.  I'm hoping that I get a little time to get inky.  I've also got loads of stash that I need to Ebay and am hoping to do this tomorrow - watch this space...

Anyway, I thought I would share some of the Easter cards that I made this year.  Everyone at work were lucky to receive a candy wrapper box full of mini eggs too - yum!!

This is the card that I made for my husband.  The background paper is from the Tim Holtz seasonal stash.  The stamps are from Stampin' Up - I love this set - I don't normally do cute but I like these alot! They were coloured using watercolour pencils.

These other cards were die cut first using a flower die.  I thought they have a lovely spring time feel to them.

I will be spending Easter Sunday with my husband.  I have a lovely lunch planned with yummy chocolate puddings.

Whatever you are doing, I hope you have a lovely, peaceful Easter.

Take Two...

I've been lacking in creativity lately and my mojo has gone on holiday!!

To kick start it again I decided to play with some of my favourite Wendy Vecchi and Tim Holtz products, using only a couple of stamps and inks.

Firstly I coloured a card blank using worn lipstick distress ink, edging the card using walnut stain.

I stamped the large alphabet background stamp in worn lipstick onto the inked card blank, followed by the leaf which was stamped in shabby shutters.

I coloured a doily using the same colour, adding a smudge of spiced marmalade in the mix.  I then stamped the 'Rules' in Archival.

To finish I added 3 butterflies that had been punched from text paper.

I then carried on to create 2 more cards using similar themes:

For the 3rd card I using broken china distress ink (one of my faves).

I had great fun making these, although think my mojo is still hiding somewhere - hope I find it soon!!

Thanks for looking.

Welcome New Baby Isla

A close friend of mine has recently become a father for the second time. Baby Isla was late to arrive but is totally gorgeous.

Here is the card that I made for Ian and his family:

I covered a card blank using designer series paper.

A window frame was cut in matching DSP and also card stock.

The image was stamped and coloured using watercolour pencils.

Pink ruffled ribbon was added, and a charm attached to finish.

I really love this image and hope that Ian and Abi loved it too.

Sunday Stamper Week 248 - You Make Me Feel Brand New

I thought I would have a bash at the latest Sunday Stamper theme set by Hels.

This week the challenge was to use something new or unused.

Here is my creation:

Firstly I covered a card blank using paper from the new Papermania 'All Aboard' collection.

I then coloured a travel label using broken china distress ink.

I stamped the map stamp in walnut stain on the background of the travel label, followed by the Eiffel tower stamp from Tim Holtz which was stamped using archival.

The man was stamped in walnut stain and cut out.

Two labels from the paper pack were cut out and collaged onto the card.

Easy peasy!!

I enjoyed making this so carried on to create another, in the same way:

Hope you like my creations.  Make sure you pop to Hels' gaff to see what masterpiece she created.

Happy Mother's Day

I nearly missed it this year!! Is it me or is it REALLY early - I'm used to it being towards the end of March.

But - thankfully I realised and created a card which I am sure my mum will love!

I created a card blank using pink card and attached a strip of Twitterpated paper to it.

I cut a strip of pink card and stamped flowers randomly using pink in.  I tied a ribbon around it and attached it to the card blank.

I stamped the flower blossom using island indigo ink and punched it out using the co-ordinating punch.  I tied string to a button and glued this to the blossom before attaching it to the card.

I die cut a label using pink card and stamped a Mothers Day greeting to finish.

Quick and easy but quite pretty (in my opinion).

Pay It Forward 2013

I have sent a further 2 PIF gifts to friends - the lucky recipients were Frances Barr and Jo Davies.

I decided to make a note card set for each friend.  The set consisted of 5 cards each.

Here are the note cards that I made.  Both were inspired from creations that I have seen on blogs.

Set 1:

Card blanks were cover using coloured card, followed by a strip of Madison Avenue paper.

Ribbon was attached a cut to form a bow.

Flowers were stamped in 3 stages using lucky limeade, island indigo and calypso coral ink.  Gems were added to the flower centre.

Set 2:

To create these cards I started by covering card blanks using black card, matted with cream card.

A banner was cut using text paper and attached to the left side of the card. Ink was used to edge the card.

The images were stamped in early espresso ink onto cream card and then matted onto black card.  This was then attached to the card blank using foam pads.

The greeting was stamped to the bottom right of the card.

I loved making these cards, and have since made more for my own use!!

I hope the recipients like them.
