Happy Anniversary!

Today I am sharing a card that I created to celebrate the anniversary of friends of ours.

This was a very quick make but so effective!

I've used 2 of the new Tim Holtz Sizzix dies, Falling Hearts and Geo Frames.  Both of these sets are so versatile.

The Falling Hearts is a really good sized die.  And I just love the little hearts - these make great confetti too!

The frames are also so versatile - really good sizes and quite funky, I thought!

So there you have it - a fairly simple make for me, yet, I love it!  And our friends did too - it was their 10th wedding anniversary!

Thanks for joining me today.

It Must Be Love

Today I am sharing a tag that I created for the launch of Lisa Horton Crafts.

For this, I actually remembered to take step by step photos so thought I would share this with you.

I started by adding Grunge Paste onto a tag in random areas.  Once this was dry, I painted the whole tag using Nougat Fresco Acrylic paint.

I also added Grunge Paste to one of the greyboard tags, and while the paste was wet, I stamped the In The Loop large stamp.  This is one of my favourite techniques.  I LOVE the texture a stamp creates. Though if you do this, you must wash your stamp straight away to remove any texture paste that has transferred to it.

I added a tiny amount of water to the Lisa Horton Raspberry Mica powder - oh my, the pigment in these is AMAZING!.  I then used these as a paint over the tag and heart.

I also added a touch of the interference mica powders to highlight some of the raised areas.  Aren't these powders AMAZING!

I love the texture here!

I also added some of the interference mica powder around the edge to create a border.

I stamped the small hearts and flourishes and one of the sentiments from Lisa's new stamp sets.

Before adhering the heart, I added some sisal for extra texture.

I was so happy with how this turned out.  Just look at that heart!!

Thanks for joining me today.

Lisa Horton Crafts - Sharing More Projects

Today I am sharing more projects with you.  Wasn't Lisa brilliant on Create and Craft.

For this tag, I spread Grunge Paste through the fabulous Hive stencil.  When this was dry, I coloured the tag using 3 shades of Fresco Acrylic paints.

Next , I stamped the large background stamp from In The  Loop.

I added Treasure Gold to some of the raised areas on the tag.

I then die cut the butterflies and added these to my tag with a sentiment.

I loved the texture on this.

Talking of texture....

By background is the Sunflower stencil with texture paste.  Once fully dry I spritz Infusions over the design.

The butterfly and sentiment are stamped and cut onto the Capri papers.

One of my favourite things is looking at how Infusions reacts on dried texture paste - I love this!

Thank you for joining me again today.

New Craft Brand Launch

Good morning all,

Today we see the launch of a brand new Brand to the crafty world, though through an artist we love.

Today, Lisa Horton launches her new brand, Lisa Horton Crafts.  You can see Lisa on Create and Craft at 1pm and 6pm.  What a very exciting day it is.

As a member of Lisa's design team I have been very privileged to see Lisa's new products - and everyone is in for a treat.

Here are some of the projects that I have created for the launch.

This card was created using Lisa's fabulous In The Loop Stamps and Co-ordinating Edge Cutz dies.

The papers are from Lisa's Capri collection.  These are based on Lisa's own background art.

This is another simple design using the same die and papers, this time teamed with an embossed sentiment.

Here, I have used the butterfly flourish edge cuts die and layered it over a stencil design that has been embossed using texture paste.

I have to say, I am a little bit in love with this simple background!

So there we are.  Three of the makes that I created for the launch.

I have more to show over the next couple of days.

Thanks for joining me today.

Do pop over to the Crafting With Lisa Horton Facebook group and see the wonderful projects over there.  And lastly, wishing Lisa every success in her launch today.

Happy crafting!

Country View Crafts Challenges - Love

Today  I am sharing my second project of the month for the wonderful Love challenge.

It has been a fabulous start to the year and I love seeing all of your projects.  What better way to get out of the spell of Christmas crafting than by thinking about love!

Here is my project

I started off my covering a card blank using panels from the Stamperia 'Mechanical Fantasy' paper pad.  These papers are absolutely gorgeous, and the new Mechanical Sea papers are just as gorgeous - and have been ordered!

The heart was stamped twice, and the first coloured using grey colours of Polychromo pencils.

The second heart was coloured using red shades of Polychromos.

I love this heart - I love the steampunk feel to it.

My colouring is never perfect, but I don't mind that.

The quote was stamped onto a panel of the grey heart and cut out.  This was then mounted onto the heart which was mounted onto the card panels.

I was really happy with this card.  It was a fairly simple make but the quality and distress on the papers make it look far more complex.

Thanks for joining me today.  Don't forget to pop over to the Challenge blog to look at the inspiration by the fellow DT members.  And while you're there, I hope you are inspired to join in with the challenge - you never know, you might be the lucky winner of the gift voucher to spend in the online shop.

Happy crafting!

A Loving Heart

Evening all.  This evening I have a project over on the PaperArtsy blog.  The theme for the fortnight is 'Love is in the Air'.

For my project I have done a spin on the traditional colour theme associated with 'love'.

I started by painting a 6x6 inch grey board panel with Heavy Cream Fresco acrylic paint.

I then brayed Niagra Falls Fresco acrylic paint over the panel, ensuring that you could still see plenty of the Heavy Cream.

I used a new PaperArtsy Sara Naumann stencil randomly using Gold Rush Fresco acrylic paint.  I love these colours together.

I created a pool of colour using Midnight Fresco acrylic paint.  Once this was dry (which was very quick) I stamped the two hearts from PaperArtsy Sara Naumann ESN11.

This was then cut out.

The hearts are a new release from Lisa Horton Crafts.  But shhhhh they are not released for another week!

The hearts were painted using Niagra Falls Fresco acrylic paint and then stamped using Gold Rush, using new PaperArtsy Sara Nauman stamps.

These were attached to the grey board panel.

To finish, I stamped a sentiment from PaperArtsy Sara Nauman ESN11 and inked around the edges.

I really enjoyed making this panel and more so because I used colours that I love!

Thank you for joining me this evening.

Make sure you pop over to the PaperArtsy blog to see inspiration from the other bloggers.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Love

Happy New Year to you all.  I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year?  I would love to hear what crafty treats Santa brought you.

The first challenge of the year is 'Love'.... what a wonderful way to start the year.

Here is my first project of the month

I decided to create an ATC.

I started by brayering a very simple background using PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic paints.  The pic actually looks darker than it was.

This was then cut into a panel along with a back panel.

I used my Tim Holtz stamp platform to stamp the main image in case I didn't get a clear image first time (but I did).

I love this image.  It is from an Aall and Create set designed by Tracy Evans.

The image was coloured using pencils.

I finished by drawing a border.

So, there you go - first Challenge project of the new decade!

Pop over to the Challenge blog to look at the inspiration from the other team members.

Thanks for joining me today.
