Junque Journal Fun

Last year I attended a Graphic 45 workshop at The Stamp Attic where we made a fabulous book using Botanical Tea papers.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the new Home Sweet Home papers and decided to create a recipe book based on the workshop I did last year.  I won't show you all of the pages just a few.  I created lots of pockets and bands to hold our favourite recipes and made some recipe cards to fit in them.  I took me all day to create on a rainy Saturday and I had so much fun.... even more so because there was NO stamping involved..... I know - really!!

So... here was my Recipe Journal

These are just a few of my pages.  Such great fun.... lovely papers and made a lovely journal.  I gave this to my dear friend Wendy from The Stamp Attic..... and I think she liked it too!

More Journalling Fun

This time I set out to  play with the new JOFY paints and stamps.

I added some torn washi tape to areas of my gesso'd page then used a brick stencil to add some grunge paste in various places.

I then coloured over the background using the new JOFY paints (which are gorgeous).  I added some silver Treasure Gold to the stencilled brick to make them stand out a bit more.

Next I created my border and stamped and painted my images

I think the end result has a sort of night time summer haze feel to it (but that's just me).

I may have told you already but I have a bit of a 'thing' about the latest Paper Artsy ranges.  It has to be my most favourite EVER (I know that is bad grammar - sorry!).  I just can't stop creating with them!!

Journalling Time

I had the chance to create another page in my art journal a few weeks ago and have not had the chance to blog it until now.

I started off my painting a page using Painted Peas, Haystack and (I think) Autumn Fire Paints. 

I then started to stamp images using various Archival inks.

I stamped some of my favourite Wendy Vecchi stamps onto white card and coloured them using alcohol markers. I then cut them out and added them to the page.

I think that there is a lot going on but I really liked the way that it turned out.

Miniature Things - Paper Artsy Blog Challenge

I have been wanting to join the challenges for a very long time but haven't had chance.  But, while everyone went off to Stevenage today I decided to get the paints out and have fun!

The theme of the challenge is small things / miniature things.  I decided to create a mini book, which I haven't done for a very long time.  It was actually 8 years since I last created a maze book and it was nothing like this one.  I had been crafting for about 3 months and it was made using a sheet of patterned paper and no stamping!

So... the thing about a maze book is that the 3x3 inch  pages are created using 1 sheet of 12x12 paper, and then you add the covers.  There are loads of videos on You Tube so I won't bore you with the basic technique.

I started off with a 12x12 sheet of tissue paper, which I brayered with Fresco Finish paints then added various stamped and painted images.

I then created the covers using the same brayed paint technique.  I stamped and painted the images to the front page

I sandwiched seam binding in between the covers to create a tie fastening before I glued the 1st page to the cover.

Oops!  Just noticed that the photo of the 1st page is upside down!  I'm planning on making some small tags to fit into the pockets at some stage - but I have a busy week at work and so won't be able to play for at least a week.  I would also like to stamp some quotes..... so many things!  So little time!

Anyway.... I really enjoyed this challenge and look forward in taking part in more.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope you are all having a romantic day!

Here is the card that I made for Dan

I covered half of a Kraft card blank with patterned paper.  To the side that was not covered I randomly stamped hearts.

I die cut 2 deco labels and attached these to the card.

The globe was stamped, coloured and cut out, then attached to the middle of the card.

I die-cut 2 heart banners and attached them to the corner of the card.

I coloured gemstones to match the papers and added these to the corners. 

I then stamped the greeting to finish.

This card was a bit different for me but I think it said everything that I need it to say!

Tonight I am cooking....not sure what yet...Dan is always spoilt by home cooked dinners!

Paper Artsy Fun Part 3!

This time I used sets by 3 designers - Clare Lloyd, Emma Godfrey and Sara Naumann, stencil by Lin Brown and paints by Jo-Firth-Young

 

This picture shows the background I created using FF paints - the 1st limited edition by Jo Firth-Young - I adored these colours.

 

I stencilled the background in 2 colours and then stamped the stars.

 

The script from the Sara Naumann set was stamped in Chalk FF paint.

 

 

I then stamped the girl from the Clare Lloyd set and painted her.  Once happy, I cut her out and added her to the page. 

To finish I stamped and painted the greeting and the stamped a quote in Archival ink.

I was really pleased at how this turned out - and it goes to show that all of these amazing stamps work so well together.

More Paper Artsy Fun!!

For this project I used the delicious Lin Brown stamps and paints.

As you can see I had great fun creating this!!

I created a brayed paint background using Lin Brown Limited Edition FF paint - these colours are to die for - I adore them!

I stamped a border all the way around which I then painted in the Limited Edition colours.

I then stamped the flower head directly to the card so I could then position the stem.

The flower head was the stamped onto separate card, painted and attached to the card.

The stem was also painted, this time in Tinned Paint FF.

I stamped the bud stamp in Tangerine Twist in various places and then another cute stamp in Archival.  The greeting was then stamped into the corner.

I really loved this card!!  I just adore the stamps, the paints.... just everything! LOL!

I then set out to use the houses set that Lin has designed...

The background was created in the same way as above, only using 2 colours.  The houses were stamped in Tangerine and then one painted in bright colours.

I punched and painted a heart and attached to the card.

The quote was then stamped in the corner to finish.

I really enjoyed using these stamps.... so many uses for them!!
