Kraft Card Using Sara Naumann Stamps

Evening all.

Tonight I have a project over at the PaperArtsy blog.  The theme for this fortnight is 'Kraft ard' and I chose to use the amazing new Sara Naumann stamps.

This was an unusual project for me as I didn't use any paint!!  I know!!  My intention was to create one card but I then started getting more and more ideas and before I knew it, I made three.

Card One:

This card was relatively easy to create.  I wanted to see how Distress Oxides looked on Kraft card.

I swiped Broken China and Peeled Paint onto a craft sheet and sprayed water over it until it beaded.  I then swiped the card through and dried it.  I then repeated until the majority of the ink was mopped up and I was happy.

Once fully dry I sprinkled water over to add more texture.

Next, I stamped the feather stamp from ESN25 using Archival ink, followed by the postage stamp from ESN24 which was stamped around the edges.

To finish this card I used a white gel pen to highlight areas and scribble around the edges.

Card Two:

For this card I wanted to try the new Emerald Creek / Seth Apter Baked Texture powders.

I stamped the script from ESN05 using Versamark ink and then sprinkled Vintage Beeswax over and melted it using a heat gun.  This looked totally amazing - I loved the effect of it on the Kraft card.

Next, I stamped the feather stamp using Versamark and sprinkled the Patina Oxide over it.  I had missed a small section but I really like the 'weathered' look it created.  But look at the effect - these powders are awesome.

To finish I added green seam binding.

Card Three:

Now this happened to be my favourite of the three (I will say that quietly so that the other two don't feel left out!).

Here, I chose to use white ink, burlap and vellum to create quite a rustic look to complement the Kraft card.

Over the years I have tried so many white ink pads and they all react differently on different card stock.  For this card I used Versamagic.

I stamped the script stamp that I used in the last card and heat set to let it dry.

I added a square of vellum to soften this, and a layer of burlap on top.

I stamped the feather stamp onto vellum and sprinkled white embossing powder over and heat set it.  I also added powder around the edges of the vellum.

This was all mounted onto the card.

So, there you have it.

Three cards using Kraft card and the same stamps, all with a totally different look.

I loved using Kraft card again - it has been a while.  But I think I will be using it again real soon!

I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge over at PaperArtsy - show us how you use Kraft card and one lucky person will be in with a chance of winning one of the amazing aprons.

Thanks for looking.
