Rebel Stamper ATC Swap

Sorry I haven't been around - I'm not very well at the moment and have been exhausted when not going back and forth Doctors and Hospitals!!  I haven't even been able to do any crafting.

Anyway, it's ATC swap over at Rebel Stampers.  Here are my swaps for June:
The theme for this atc was 'red'.  Here I coloured an atc in barn door distress stain and then stamped the background.  The flower and quote are from Stampin' Up and I have stamped them in Barn Door and Fired Brick.  The bakers twine was from my stash.

The theme for this atc was the free stamp inthe June edition of Craft Stamper.  For this atc I coloured the background using distress ink.  I then added a ruler stamp in red and the free stamp in gold acryllic paint.  The dress form was die cut in canvas and coloured using antique linen and edged in walnut stain.  The twine was from my stash.

Hope you like my atc's.  If you fancy joining in nip across and join the Rebel Stampers

Thanks for looking.

WOYWW

Good morning all.

Apologies for not being around much but I am not very well at the moment - not even well enough to craft!!

Here is how my desk is looking today
The rest of my desk looks very much unloved :(

I also have pics from a workshop which I did with the AMAZING Hels Sheridan at The Stamp Attic .
The workshop was a Distress Masterclass and it was fabulous.  Here are some of my samples:

There were 15 techniques in total and we bound them into a fab little technique book!

If you want to have a nosey at other desks around the world, pop over to The Stamping Ground for more info!

Also, I am having a clearout on Ebay - check out the post below for more details.

Happy Father's Day & Sunday Stamper Week 210 - This Boy

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's out there.

Here is the card that I made for my wonderful Daddy
Here I used the fabulous Key Keeper stamp from Stampotique, which I stamped onto grid paper and coloured with Pro Markers.

The Dad quote is from Woodware - as soon as I saw this stamp I knew that I had to buy it for my Dad!!

The background paper is Tim Holtz Kraft Resist which I have coloured using distress stain.

Simple card but I really like it - I am sure my Dad will love it too....

I am also entering this into Sunday Stamper.  Pop over to see what Hels has created - a truly  stunning piece of art as usual.

Tag Swap at Rebel Stampers

The tag swap theme for this month was 'crackle' - which is one of my faves but the one that needs most of  my patience (which we know I don't have).

Here is my entry
For this tag I coloured a tag using distress stain.  I then used a crackle stamp over it.  I painted some crackle paint over parts of the tag and waited for this to dry.

Once dry, I stamped over this in Archival ink and used misted cloth to highlight some areas.

I die cut a heart and covered this in a thick layer of rock candy distress ink and used the shattered stain technique that Tim Holtz uses in his Compendium of Curiosities II.  Once dry I soaked two colours of distress stain into it.

Hope you like my tag.  Thanks for looking.

Tim Holtz Challenge : 12 Tags of 2012 - June

Yes, I know that I have not made the May tag yet, and my June entry is a card, not a tag!!  But, as soon as I saw this month's challenge I couldn't wait to give it a go!

Here is my creation:
I like to try to 'copy' (for want of a better word) alot of what Tim shows (so that I can do it myself next time), however, I also like to put my own spin on it.

Here is used a hinge clip as I didn't have a file tab.  I also used a chipboard numeral that I die cut instead of the metal numeral.  For the flower I used an old metal embellishment.

I hope you like my version of Tim's amazing tag.  If you haven't already, pop over to Tim's to have a look at his inspiration!

Paper Gerbera Tutorial

Hope you are all enjoying the Diamond Jubilee festivities.  I've never been a Royalist but love the community spirit and dedication that they have shown over the years.  I watched the Thames event from start to finish on the TV today and loved it.  Such  a sense of pride - a great day to be British!
Right - enough of the waffle!!!  Some weeks ago I showed the paper gerberas that I am making and I had several comments asking how I made them.  I promised to show you and have finally got around to it!  I hope it has been worth the wait.

Ingredients needed:
Die cutting machine
Sizzix / Stampin' Up  Daisies #2 die
Card stock
Glue
Embossing pad
Embossing powder

How to Create the gerberas:
Firstly, you will need to die cut 6 large and 4 small daisies from your chosen coloured card stock
When you cut your large daisy you will need to keep one of the large circles that are die cut from the middle of the daisy.

Next, you will need to shape your daisies.  To do this I just held them in one hand and pulled the petals forward to give them dimension.

The third step is to start layering and gluing them together.  I used Cosmic Shimmer glue because it's tough and easy to use

Once layered you should have two flowers that look like this
Now you just need to glue the small flower onto the large flower

For the flower centre I used the die cut circle that came from the centre of the large daisy and embossed it using a lav coloured embossing powder

(If you didn't want to emboss the centre you could replace this with a brad)

I then glued this onto the flower and this completed the gerbera

Before I use it on my projects I will just 'fluff' the petals up more to give it more dimension.

Hope you like the tutorial.

You can order the daisies die through me by emailing here for details.
