More Gelli Print Makes

A month or so ago I shared the fun that I had one afternoon making lots of Gelli Print creations on tissue paper.  I won't share the method again, but here is another card that I made for a friend's birthday.

The flower for this card is designed by Jo Firth-Young for Paper Artsy.  I have coloured the flower using Polychromo pencils.

I also used an earlier Gelli Print to create this card.....

The cat is an Inkylicious stamp.  I just had to get this one as the cat reminds me so much of my Sid.

I stuck to my go-to colours of blue and green and added gold mesh as a highlight.

I made this card for another dear friend's birthday.

Thank you for looking at my blog today - it always means so much!

Love Is In The Air

Today I am off to celebrate the Marriage of Georgie and Gary.  Georgie is the daughter of my dear friend, Dianne, and I am delighted that I have been asked to share this happy occasion with the family..... I have even bought a dress for the occasion - those of you who know me will know that you can count the number of times that I have worn a dress in my life on two hands - and that includes wearing my wedding dress twice for the wedding in St. Lucia and Blessing back home!

Anyway...back to the celebrations.  Here is the card that I made for the Happy Couple.

I'm not going to do a 'how to' as the card is fairly simple but classic.

I kept the colours quite classic - white and silver - and have used my favourite Personal Impressions stamp (this was one of the first stamps I bought when I started crafting in 2007).

Anyway - I will be away for the day - but thanks for looking, and join me in congratulating the Happy Couple.

Country View Challenges - Hearts

This month, Hazel has chosen the theme of Hearts for the Country View Crafts challenge.

Here is my entry

I started by creating a Gelli print background using Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paints and mini stencils.  I even got a bit carried away and made a few....though some turned out better than the others!

I then set about using one of my favourite (and most used) sets of Paper Artsy stamp sets.  I stamped the heart and coloured it using several different colours of pencil.

I started to construct the card.  The card blank was covered with black card  and the Gelli print centred.  I drew around parts of the print and added scribbling.

To finish, I stamped a quote from Tim Holtz Life Quotes.

So, there you go.... the finished card.

Pop on over to Country View Crafts and see the amazing projects created by my fellow DT members.

I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge this month.  Don't forget that  there is a gift voucher up for grabs for one lucky person.

Thanks for looking.....

Birthday Wishes For My Number 1 Man!

Today is the birthday of the number one man in every girls life..... no, I'm not talking about George Clooney.....  it is my Dad.

Here is the card that I made for him....

I started off my stencilling Walnut Stain and Broken China onto a card blank using a Tim Holtz stencil.  I then edges around the card with Walnut Stain ink.

The image was stamped using Coffee Archival ink and then mounted onto another rectangle of card.

To assemble, I added a strip of card and a tab that I had stamped using a fabulous new Carabelle Studios stamp, and layered co-ordinating washi tape.

To finish I used Tim Holtz letters to spell Dad and a quote.

I'm hoping that Dad likes his card.

Flower Power Challenge at Country View Crafts

It's my turn over at Country View Crafts Challenges.  The theme this month has been Flower Power... who doesn't love flowers, right?

For this challenge I have created a canvas for a very dear friend of mine, Dianne.  This is the finished canvas....

To create this I started by adding scraps of lace and chipboard to a blank canvas board.  I then added micro beads for extra texture.

Once this has dried I painted the whole canvas using PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints.

Here is a close up of the texture created by the micro beads.

Next, I added a layer of Deco Art Weathered Wood which I left to dry thoroughly before adding a different colour of Fresco paint (which in this case was Lake Wanaka)  It's at this stage you see the effect of the Weathered Wood.

I never tire of seeing this - it's like magic!! LOL!!

Once this was dry I started to embellish the canvas using photographs, flowers and metal embellishments.

I really enjoyed creating this, and it was more special because it is for a dear friend.

Here are some close ups of the embellishments.  Dianne always likes to look at my work and so I concealed some of the embellishments so that she could 'find' them.

One of the frames was chip board and the other was plastic.  I coated these in gesso and then added Classic Treasure Gold.  I love the vintage effect that this has created.

I also used lots of metal embellishments tucked away here and there.

So, there it is - my canvas for Dianne.  Beautiful photographs surrounded by lots of flowers in Dianne's favourite colours.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today.

If you haven't done so already there is still time to join in with the current challenge and be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher.

More Flower Power

I can't get enough of this month's theme over at Country View Crafts Challenges., Flower Power.

Today I am sharing some note cards that I have created with the challenge in mind.

I started off by embossing a Tim Holtz flower onto some small water colour papers that I bought from a fine art shop in London.  I couldn't resist them because they were so small and cute...LoL!!

I then started to colour them in using Distress Oxides and a water brush.

I never tire of water colouring!  Especially on white embossing because it makes the image 'pop'

For the backgrounds, I blended Vintage Photo and Broken China Distress Oxides.

After blending the inks I splattered some water then added Broken China through a Tim Holtz stencil.

I then layered the panels onto note cards... and voila!

These were great fun to make!

Do pop over and join in with the challenge at Country View Crafts.

Thanks for popping by today.....

Flower Power Challenge

I can't get enough of the current challenge over at Country View Crafts.

Here are 2 more cards that I have created having been inspired by the latest challenge....

I started by covering card blanks with patterned paper.  I drew a scribbly border around this to create a frame.  I cut a rectangle in shimmer card and drew a scribbly border around these.  They were then mounted to the centre of the cards.

The images were stamped and coloured using Prima watercolours.  Once dry they were cut out and attached to the mounted rectangles.

To finish,  I added gems and seam binding ribbon.

I love these JOFY for Paper Artsy flowers - really striking!

If you haven't done so yet, do join in with the Flower Power challenge over at Country View Crafts - don't forget - there is a gift voucher up for grabs for one lucky person!
