Inspired By Tim Holtz

It is my turn over at Country View Crafts today. I am still super excited about joining the team.

Here is my project for today

I started by creating 2 master boards using spiced marmalade and worn lipstick Distress inks. Once covered I using a Tim Holtz stencil to add more colour and patter.

Next I set about using one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamp sets.
It's one of the early sets but still my favourite - I just love that script.

I randomly stamped the script over the master boards using Archival ink

One of the master boards were used to create the background of these fabulous new butterflies.

The other was used for the background to my card.
I inked around the edge using walnut stain Distress ink.

I then assembled my card, adding black seam binding ribbon and a Tim Holtz word band.

So, a bit of a Tim Holtz overload - but what's not too love?!

Country View Crafts Challenge - Inspired By Tim Holtz

A few weeks ago I received a very exciting email from Susan at Country View Crafts, inviting me to join the CVC Design Team - it obviously took me a whole 30 seconds to respond!  I can't even tell you how excited I was!

The current Country View Crafts challenge and my very 1st official challenge is "Inspired By Tim Holtz".  As soon as I saw the theme I was really pleased!  Tim has inspired me since I started to craft in 2007.

So - here is my first creation....

I started by creating an alcohol ink background using sailboat blue and juniper alcohol inks- I LOVE these colours.  I hadn't used alcohol inks for a little while so it was lovely to use them again.  I had forgotten just how fun they are to use!  I cut a slim slice from the background to use for the sentiment panel.

I then used the Mixed Media 2 die to cut the swirls in opposite corners of a white card panel.

I then attached this to the alcohol ink background and adhered it to a card front.

I stamped a sentiment from Tim's  Simple Sayings stamp set and adhered this to the centre of the card.

To finish I added a seam binding bow and a few adhesive pearls.

I was really happy with the end result!

Do pop over to the Country View Crafts Blog and see the other amazing projects created by the Team, and I hope you choose to join in the challenge.
