Fun With Alcohol (Inks)

I managed to have a play with alcohol inks last weekend.  I hadn't played with them for a long time and had forgotten how much fun they are!

I kept it simple and used the colours from the new Alcohol Ink kits that are for sale.

Here is what you get in the kit.... loads!  And some card stock too!

Here is what I did!

I smooshed some alcohol ink onto alcohol ink glossy card stock.

Next, I die cut one of Tim's wildflowers in black card stock- these are such versatile dies - I love them!

I added a panel of black card to a card blank and then added the alcohol ink panel on top, with the wildflower die adhered to the centre.

To finish I added a strip of card with a stamped sentiment.

I really enjoyed making this card and it was unusually 'simple' for me!

Love Is In The Air...

The current theme over at Paper Artsy is pink and orange. These are not colours that I would normally use together but I had soooo much fun.

I thought I would use these colours to create a Valentine card.  Here's what I did....

I decided to use Prawn and Coral Fresco Finish paints for my project.

I put blobs of these colours onto my craft sheet and used my brayer to cover a sheet of tissue paper.  I wasn't bothered about it being too blended and wanted some areas to be darker and bolder than the others.  This was the result.

Coral is an orangey-pink and so these colours worked really well together.

Next, I wanted to add some stamping to the background of the tissue paper.  For this I used the fabulous feather in the Tracy Scott stamp set - this is a really good sized stamp and the detail is beautiful.

I stamped this in Archival ink.

I then added some Tea Rose stamping.  This is another beautiful orangey pink.

For some reason I then forgot to take more photos!

I adhered the background to a card blank and cut it to size.

I used a TCW stencil and sponged Little Black Dress paint through it.  Once this was dry I added detail using a white gel pen.

I stamped different hearts from Tracy Scott onto the background and then separately onto white card. I coloured the hearts using Prawn and a dash of London Bus Fresco Finish paints.

Once dry, these were then cut and added to the card with foam dots.

I added a scribbled border around the edges.

This is my finished card....

I had great fun making this and am entering it into the Paper Artsy challenge.  And, as a bonus, I have a Valentine card ready for the big day!

Thanks for looking......

Spring Is In The Air

Or at least I wish it was!  It's cold and wet outside today.

I thought I would share a card that I made recently.... it made me think of the start of spring and lighter evenings.

I covered a card blank using distress ink and a doily stencil (yes... I know... I am always using this stencil!).

The JOFY images were stamped and coloured using Polychromo pencils.  They were then carefully cut out.  I added white gel pen detail to parts of them, then added this to the card blank.

I coloured seam binding with distress ink and added this to the card.  To finish, I added a simple greeting.

I enjoyed making this so made another in a blue colourway!

I am hoping and planning to have a craft filled weekend.... so hoping to have more to share with you soon!
