Country View Crafts Challenges - Easter/Spring

Hi again,

Today I am sharing with you my second project for the month.  I hope you are enjoying the amazing inspiration from the team over on the blog this month.

You may have realised that I am totally in love with the new PaperArtsy JOFY stamps that were released last month.  When I see them they remind me of spring time and beautiful flowers.  So these were perfect for this month's project.

I started by lightly brayering Fresco acrylic paint onto a 6x6 card.  I purposely left this rough looking around the edge as I liked the effect.

Next I used a technique shown by Tracy Evans at the NEC show last month.  I loved the possibilities of using a stencil as a stamp.  Although I actually ended up using a different stencil to the one shown in the photo.

How wonderful is this technique?!

The large flower was stamped and then coloured using Polychromo pencils.  I love how soft these pencils are, again, reminding me of Spring and warmth and lighter nights.

To finish I mounted everything onto a card blank, inking the edges with black paint.

The sentiment was from an earlier stamp release from PaperArtsy JOFY stamps.

I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge.  Don't forget, by joining in you may be in with a chance of winning a voucher to spend in the Country View Crafts shop.

Thanks for joining me...… happy crafting!

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Good evening,

Tonight I am sharing a project over at the PaperArsty blog.  The theme for the fortnight is Maps and Plans.

As soon as I saw this topic I knew that I wanted to use a map of my home town, Cardiff.  I will always hold Cardiff very close to my heart and this is what inspired my project.

Here is my finished project

Pop over to the blog to see how I created this.

Let me know in the comments where you hold close to your heart.

Thanks for joining me.

Happy crafting!

Country View Crafts Challenges - Spring and/or Easter

Happy Spring.  As I type this there is hope of warmer days and lighter evenings.  I am keeping everything crossed!

The theme over at Country View Challenges is Spring and/or Easter.  With Easter fast approaching I decided to make an Easter card.

I started by die cutting a Tim Holtz stitched circle and rabbit.  I don't yet have the new Cotton Tail but it is certainly next on the list!  I cut them using white card and then coloured them using Distress Oxides.  I love colouring shapes this way - I cam alter the colour until I'm happy.

The foil was embossed using a Tim Holtz Texture folder.  Doesn't it look amazing!

I also coloured seam binding using Distress Oxides.  Again, I love colouring seam binding this way as it always co-ordinates with my project.

Once I was happy, I layered everything onto my card.

Thanks for joining me today.  Make sure you pop over to the Country View Crafts Challenge blog and see the inspiration from the other members of the design team.  I hope that I have encouraged you to join in with the challenge.  Don't forget that if you link a project over at the Challenge blog you may be in with a chance of winning a gift voucher to spend in the shop.

Happy Crafting!
