Christmas Gifting

Yes, I've said the 'C' word.

Tonight I am over at the PaperArtsy blog showing you a gift box that I have altered as a Christmas gift.  The theme for this fortnight is 'Tissue Paper'.

My project centred around an ATC storage box from That Craft Place.  I started by painting it using Fresco Finish paints.  For the tissue paper technique I stamped using Archival ink and then adhered this to the box.

To go with my gift box I altered one of the ATCs that come with the box.  I also created a gift bag using Tissue Wrap and decorated this in the same way before filling it with sweets.

Pop over to the PaperArtsy blog to see more information about how I created this project.  Thanks for joining me this evening.

Happy crafting!

Christmas Crafting With Creative Expressions

Today I am sharing more projects that I made for the Creative Expression shows with Lisa Horton on Hochanda.  Grab a cuppa and have a browse - this is a very photo heavy post.

I had great fun using the grey board baubles and the Christmas mini stencils.

I think that the blues were my favourite.

I then created some cards and backgrounds.

Finally, I made an advent book, using two of the baubles as the covers

So, there you have it.... lots of Christmas crafting going on using only paints, stencils and mdf.

Thanks for bearing with me with all of the photos.

Have a great day!

Anniversary Celebrations

Today I am celebrating my 17th wedding anniversary.  I have no idea where all of the years have gone!  Here is the card that I have made for Dan...

I kept it very simple and used one of my favourite stamps which I bought form a shop that closed many years ago.  It was one of the first stamps that I bought when I started to craft.  I teamed this with vintage papers and added some distressed edges.  Simple!

In a similar vein, my sister recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary and I made a very similar card for her....

I changed the colour scheme here and added some embossed metal medallions.

It doesn't matter how many times I use this stamp, but I love it!

Thanks for joining me today.  I will be off sipping gin!

Country View Crafts Challenge - Plantastic

Today I am sharing with you my second project for Country View Crafts Challenges, the challenge being 'Plantastic'.

For my second project I took to my mini art journal.

I started by brayering Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic paints over my journal.

Once happy I started to stamp various images from PaperArtsy Eclectica Darcy's sets 10 and 14.

The images were painted using Fresco Finish paints.  I also added some extra grasses using the edge of my paint brush.

I added a sentiment from PapertArtsy Eclectica Darcy set 19.

To finish I drew a border around the edge.

There is still plenty of time to join in with the Country View Crafts Challenge.  Pop over to the blog to see the inspiration and to join in .  Don't forget, there is a chance to win a voucher to spend in the online shop.

Thanks for joining me.....

Country View Crafts Challenges - Plantastic

It's October already, which means it's time for another challenge over at Country View Crafts.  The topic this month is Plantastic.

Here is my first project

I started off my distressing a square of green card for my background.

Next, I use my gel plate  to create a background using Dina Wakely paints.

This was then cut down and mounted to the green panel.

Here is where the fun begins.  I used Tim Holtz Funky Floral 1 and 2 and cut loads of flowers and leaves in different colours.

Once I finished die cutting I then started to arrange them onto my card.

Once these were stuck down I added a die cut black 'Happy Birthday' so that it stood out on the card.  To finish I drew a scribbled border.

I hope you like my card as much as I liked making it.  Thanks for joining me today.  Don't forget to visit the Country View Crafts Challenge blog to see the inspiration from the other design team members.

I hope that I have inspired you to join in with the challenge - don't forget, by linking up your project on the Challenge blog you may be in with a chance of winning a voucher to use at the Country View Crafts shop.

Happy Crafting!
