Christmas is Coming

Today I want to share more cards that I have created.

Each one of these cards is unique and different but created in the same way.

I started by creating master boards.  I have already show you how I made these in an earlier posts.

To add extra texture I used a sewing machine to add a scrappy border.

The snowmen were stamped, coloured and cut out.  I went around them using a Stabilo All pencil in order to make the snowman stand out on the card.

To finish I added a Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon.

With the exception of the sewing (because I am not great with a sewing machine) I had great fun creating these and they were super quick.

Christmas Tags

Today I want to share with you some Christmas tags that I have created.

I have to apologise from the outset as I forgot to take photographs as I went along!

So, how did I create these?

1. I die cut the tags using the Lisa Horton Tags and Banner dies.  I die cut double what I needed as I glued 2 together after I had coloured them to hide the alcohol ink that was showing on the back.

2. I stamped the plaid stamp from Tim Holtz Lumberjack stamps.  I initially bought this set for the wonderful wood grain stamp but have actually used this plaid stamp more

3.  I stamped the trees and hearts from the PaperArtsy Kay Carley EKC33 stamps.  These were coloured using Alcohol ink pens.

4.  To finish, I inked around the edges, glued the backing tags to the back of each tag and added some seam binding,

These were great fun to make.  I love the size of these tags dies and they are fast becoming one of my most used products.

More PaperArtsy fun with Shaving Foam

Evening,

After all of the fun yesterday I thought I would share another project using the shaving foam technique I shared yesterday.

Here is my finished project

The technique was the same as the calendar.

I really loved creating these baubles.

The new colours of Fresco paints are just amazing - any I'm sure you know how much I love using Blues in my crafting!

I love these baubles and can't wait to see them hanging on my tree.

I decorated the back of the baubles and also coloured the ribbon to match.

I had so much fun creating these.  This has been my favourite technique this month!

Christmas Countdown

Today I have a project over at the PaperArtsy blog.

The theme for this fortnight is 'Shaving Foam'.  For those of you who follow my blog you will know that I have used this technique quite a few times this year.  I have adapted my technique throughout the year and have learnt new things.

Here is my main project

I started by adding loads of drops of paint into a tray of shaving foam.  I then mixed and swirled these before adding my substrates to the foam.

One thing that I learnt during this project is that I could dip my substrate into the foam a second time to add even more pattern.  I just loved this.

Here are all of the elements once they had been decorated with the shaving foam technique.  I also added Treasure Silver to the edges of each piece.

I kept the design simple as I wanted the technique to stand out.  I used silver embossing and stamped the PaperArtsy Sara Naumann stamps on all elements apart from the number cubes.

I loved how the silver embossing looked against the Fresco Acrylic Paint colours.

The substrates are from That Craft Place.  I just love their MDF.  It is always super easy to put together and is very good value for money and great quality.

I teamed the cubes with numbers die cut in Mirri Card.

I really loved this project and will look forward to using it over the festive period.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Hand Stamped

Today I am sharing my second project for the Hand Stamped challenge.

I started by brayering Iceberg, Koala and Blue Jeans Fresco Acrylic Paints onto a sheet of card stock.

I then cut a panel to create my main focal image before stamping the background of the remaining brayered background using a Sara Naumann background stamp.  I edged the background using a silver Sharpie marker.

This was mounted onto a black panel and then card blank.

I added self adhesive snowflakes to the background.  I think these are so pretty.

The main image us a PaperArtsy Sara Naumann image and was stamped using Versamark ink  and then covered in silver embossing powder.

Can you remember the first time you heat embossed?  Every time I do this I wonder why i don't do this more often.  I love watching the magic of the powder heating and 'setting'.

It really is like watching magic happen.

This was mounted onto black card and then onto the background card.

To finish I added white twine and a snowflake charm.

I was really pleased with this card and think I will be making more - although I have run out of those fabulous self adhesive snowflakes.  The only disappointing thing for me is that, no matter how hard I tried, the pictures I took do not show how bright and shiny the card is.

Country View Crafts Challenges - Hand Stamped

Happy November to you all.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Country View Crafts.  The theme for November is hand stamped - one of my favourite things to do!  I was literally hooked when I started stamping.... and now my collection is huge!

Here is the first project for the challenge:

To create this card I made a Master Board.  Regular followers will have seen me create these a lot.  It is one of my favourite things to do.

I brayered PaperArtsy Fresco Acrylic Paints onto a sheet of card and then stencilled paint through a PaperArtsy Darcy Marshall stencil.

Once this was dry I stamped snowflakes using a Silver Encore ink pad.

Once everything was fully dry I cut the master board up and mounted them to pre-cut card blanks.

The Merry Misfits were stamped and coloured using alcohol ink pens.  I then cut them out and inked around the edges and added googly eyes.

I just love these images - they are so much fun!

I added ribbon to finish the card, along with a sentiment.

I really loved the detail on the background.  The silver sparkle from the snowflakes are perfect.  It created just enough of Christmas bling!
